Find Your Competitors’ Affiliates

Your competitors spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours developing their affiliate marketing strategies to acquire high-quality web partnerships.

If you have a small budget, why would you try to compete with those companies? You’d most likely fail to get the same quality affiliates your competitors get.

Instead of hitting your head against your wall in anger and decide to work harder, you should work smarter.

What’s Forex Affiliation:

Affiliation is a type of marketing program where a person refers other people to a certain business in return for some kind of reward (typically financial). This is usually done through recommendations, banners, links, or any other type of marketing collateral. In Forex, affiliates refer potential traders to online Forex brokers. The referral works when a potential trader clicks a link or a banner provided by an affiliate and later on registers to trade with the broker. That trader is earmarked as a client of that Forex affiliate through whose referral link he arrived.

Affiliate is an Internet type of an Introducing Broker (IB). It’s being an IB but without typically having an office or sales staff. Internet Forex Affiliates refer their clients through websites. Becoming an affiliate is much simpler and typically Forex Affiliates are private individuals with internet properties and large traffic as opposed to IBs who are mostly organized as companies or individuals. Becoming an affiliate for a certain broker or several is very easy and can take less than 5 minutes.

How does the referral link look:

Typically, you’ll be able to see a short line of code right after the Forex broker’s domain name. For instance, if someone referred clients to, let’s say, “Forex Broker”, their referral link might look like this: This tells you that whoever is placing this link works as an affiliate.

How can I find my competitors’ affiliates?

Your competitor’s affiliates make money by pushing traffic to their site and getting a commission from any sales (CPA, CPL, Rebates, Revenue Sharing, or a Hybrid type of commission which involves a couple of the mentioned options). Since they link to your competitor’s landing page (or product page), they are a referral link to that site.

We can help you find and download Competitors’ Affiliates in just a few clicks.

The idea I’m suggesting is simple:

Spy on your competitors and steal their best affiliates.

You are basically drafting with your competitors; they work hard to get affiliates, you follow them and get the same ones.

This is also one of our most effective affiliate marketing strategies in terms of win rate and overall time invested per earned high-quality web partnerships.

Let’s take a quick look at the process:

Step #1 – Make A List Of Your Competitors

Start by making a list of 5x competitors that are running leading affiliate programs worldwide or in a specific region. If you need help we can provide advanced Competitor analysis that covers backlinks also, not just affiliates. Just get in touch with us.

It doesn’t matter if they are bigger or smaller than you. They will all teach you some valuable lessons.

Step #2 – Analyse Their Backlinks

Once you have your list of competitors, you will need to analyze their backlinks profile.

We can provide you intelligent spreadsheets that make this a really easy process.

My favorite tool for this is Ahrefs but my spreadsheets also work with SEMRush, SEO Powersuite, or Spyfu.

If for any reason you don’t want to use my intelligent sheets, you can do it manually…

The analysis is simple: go to Ahrefs’ Site Explorer, add the link from one of your competitors, and click the orange loop button.

In the left-side menu, click on the link that says Backlinks.

Step #3 – Extract Their Affiliates

In here you can see all the inbound links XM got.

To filter them identify the refferal link (it is different from broker to broker) and update the results.

In this case the filter will show: “Target URL: Contains affiliate”

Select One link per domain to have the final list of web affiliates.

In this case, almost 5.000.

Export the list of URLs you find for every competitor.

Once you have found a list of affiliates, start by opening in a separate tab each link one at a time.

From here, you need to start thinking.

First, check the quality of the affiliate websites.

You can use Ahrefs to get a feeling of the organic traffic that website.

In our case, let’s check the first one in the generated list:

You will be able to uncover new opportunities, get a feel for what people like in your industry, and see what type of content gets the most links.
